10 days Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife safari
Arrival, transfer to Kampala for overnight.
DAY ONE - Transfer to Murchison falls national park
You will be picked from your hotel and transfer to Uganda’s best savannah national park via Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a short walk/safari to see the white Rhinos. Expect to have lunch en-route and stop for a lot of photo sessions when necessary.
DAY TWO - Explore the Murchison Falls
After breakfast we shall go for a morning safari in Murchison falls national park where we expect to see a lot of wildlife such as lions, leopards, buffalos, elephants, antelopes, lots of birds and after noon boat trip on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the world’s most powerful waterfall is a must do. An optional hike to the top of the falls is also possible that will reward you with amazing views of the Uhuru and Murchison falls.
DAY THREE - Transfer Kibale /Fort portal
After breakfast we shall embark on our long drive to the primate capital of East Africa [Kibale Forest national park] via the Albert escarpment that will reward you with amazing views and a touch of the African village’s lookout. On a good day, if the weather is clear enough we expect to view the Blue Mountains in the DRC. En-route we shall have a stopover in Hoima central market for a walk around the market and buy some fruits for our en-route snacks. We shall also learn about the different organic Ugandan foods that will enlighten us on what the Ugandan delicacy looks like.
DAY FOUR - Chimpanzee trekking and swamp walk
On this day we shall meet and greet the chimps that are close to the human race and view quite a number of other monkeys such as the red colobus, black and white colobus, mangabeys, blue monkeys and lots of birdlife. After the swamp walk we shall either decide to do a swamp walk in Bigodi or a community local food preparation and have a taste of the organic food delicacy.
DAY FIVE - Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest
Set off for a scenic drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park with lunch in Kabale and continue to the park. Arrive late evening for the batwe community experience, after which you will head back to the lunch for dinner and overnight.
DAY SIX - Gorilla Trekking And Lake Bunyonyi
The long awaited day is here when we shall encounter the Grorilla forest to meet and greet with the world’s most gentle primates in one of the dense tropical rainforests of the world that will reward you with once in a lifetime unending smiles and memories after setting eyes on the massive ‘Mountain Gorillas’. The trekking is never easy or hard, it’s always fun walking through the jungle and experiencing what life is like in the forest. The hike may be short or long depending on the Gorilla movements. We shall then drive to lake Bunyonyi after trekking. Arrive late for dinner at overnight.
DAY SEVEN - Activities At Lake Bunyonyi
The lake is home to 29 islands with amazing histories and a lot of birdlife, so if you’re a fan birds, you will probably have the best time bird watching. Activities include, Boat ride to the islands, bird watching, nature walks, quad biking and zip lining.
DAY EIGHT - Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
Refresh yourself with a swim in the pool upon arrival and enjoy lunch on Rwakobo Rock with scenic views on the Ugandan grassland. You will do an evening bike ride through Lake Mburo national park when the sun starts setting. We’ll see zebras, antelopes, baboons, long-horn cattle all from a very close range.
DAY NINE - Transfer back to Kampala
If you have a night flight, I will recommend that I take you to the craft market, visit the Gadhafi mosque (gives you an aerial view of Kampala city) and also an evening we can go to Ndere cultural centre for local dance performances which ends at 10pm. Such a plan would work if your flight is at 2 or 3am.
